Venus is my comic character http://venus.viewpoint.cl

I was thinking to model Venus in clay, but I decided to use a software by the time.
I like the Carrara interface and I can feel that I'm doing digital sculpture here.

I modeled the character using the Vertex Modeler in Carrara. Later I imported this geometry (OBJ format) into Poser, after I did the conversion to the poseable figure by adding a bone system in the Setup Room. I used the Judy's bone structure for fast working.
I edited the CR2 file directly with a text processor, the syntax is easy to understand, Later I'll explain it with more detail, It's not complicated.
When the figure was done, I modeled the hair with texture and transparency map. Later I animated my character in Poser.

MODELLING IN CARRARA 3-5 v.

I love the anatomy and I enjoy drawing comics.
I was trying to model a right anatomy, specially the shoulders. Read this note about the shoulder position in the 3D model for poser:

I thing that it's better to get anatomy reference for the body modeling. Also you can get it in my anatomy section.

I have used Carrara 4 in this tutorial, also I have included notes about another figure that I modeled in Carrara 5.

The tutorial is divided in:

- Head Modeling (Carrara 3-4)
- Body Modeling (Carrara 3-4)
- Hair Modeling (Carrara 3-4)
- Setup in Poser 5 o Pro Pack
- Getting a poseable Poser figure
- A man model in Carrara 5

I opened a empty scene in Carrara and I inserted a Vertex object.
Vertex Modeler Room:
You can import the all three photos in the Vertex Modeler's backdrop to reference. Select Global Tab in the right window.

I started for drawing a path. You should move the Drawing Plane to the such new space coordinate to draw.
I drow three path with the Polyne tool in the Vertex Modeler, the front, profile and 3/4 position of the head over these pics (above).
Basically, I joined the three path by the axis. After I linked the three path.
You can model the half head and duplicate it with the Edit/Duplicate with Symmetry command.

You can model the ears apart. After copy, paste and weld in the head.I did the smoothing when the head was joined to the body. I used another software from Eovia (www.eovia.com) called Amapi, the 5.1 version is free.
